About Hal
I have practiced law in Marysville since 1993. For most of that time I have done one thing: help families decide what happens to what they've built.
That usually means wills, trusts, powers of attorney and health-care directives. With farm families and business owners, it also means the harder conversation about which child takes over the operation and how to be fair to the ones who don't. I have seen what happens when nobody plans. I have sat in probate court with siblings who stopped speaking over forty acres.
I hold free estate planning workshops at the county library a few times a year and try to keep the legal jargon to a minimum. My wife says I haven't managed that yet.
