About Carlos
Carlos was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and came to Ohio for college at Bowling Green. He planned to teach high school math and took a bank teller job to pay for school. That was 16 years ago.
He now leads business banking at Mill Creek Community Bank's Marysville office. He works with owners on SBA loans, equipment financing, lines of credit and treasury services, mostly for companies between $1 million and $15 million in revenue. His favorite part of the job happens before anyone applies. He sits down with the owner and shows them how a credit committee reads their financials, so the application doesn't arrive with problems nobody can explain.
Carlos coaches his son's travel baseball team and brings a tray of pernil to every Surge holiday party.
What members say about Carlos
3 testimonialsMy old bank took six weeks to turn down an equipment loan for our third excavator. Carlos approved it in nine days, and before I applied he told me exactly what the committee would ask.
Roy Castañeda Castañeda Excavating When the building next to the shop came up for sale, Carlos did the SBA 504 loan and called me back every single time. At my old bank I never learned my loan officer's name.
Gary Stoltz Fifth Street Print & Promo Before my clients apply, Carlos reads their financials and tells them what the credit committee will flag. A retailer I work with got a $250k line of credit on the first try after two big banks wouldn't return her calls.
