About Maya
I grew up in Plain City, studied photography at the Columbus College of Art & Design, and started running Instagram for my aunt's bakery in 2019. It went well enough that three of her neighbors asked me to run theirs.
Fieldnote Social now manages social media for 14 local businesses: farm stores, restaurants, salons, a few contractors, and one very photogenic dog lodge. I shoot almost everything on a phone, on location, because people can tell when a post is real. I write the captions, schedule the posts, answer the comments, and send a plain-English report every month.
I'm 26, and I'm usually the youngest person at Surge by about a decade. I'm fine with that. Somebody has to explain TikTok.
