About DeShawn
DeShawn shot weddings for six years and loved it, right up until he realized he hadn't had a free Saturday since 2017. In 2021 he switched to commercial work: team headshots, brand photography, and short videos for websites and social media.
He runs on-site headshot days where a whole office gets photographed between 9 and noon, and most people end up liking a picture of themselves for the first time in years. He also shoots job-site content for contractors, which he considers the most underused marketing in central Ohio. Hardly anyone shows the crew.
DeShawn grew up on the east side and studied film at Columbus State. He is the reason Surge Polaris has a decent photo from every meeting.

3 testimonialsOur team page was eleven photos with eleven different backgrounds, one of them clearly from a wedding. DeShawn set up in our conference room at 9 and had everyone done by 11:15, and people actually use the photos on LinkedIn now.
Hamza Warsame Northbound IT I did not think anyone would want to watch people clean. DeShawn filmed our night crew at a medical building on Polaris Parkway anyway, and we put the two-minute video in a bid for a 20,000-square-foot dental office. We won it.
Sunita Gurung Brightline Facility Services I have avoided cameras since about 1994. DeShawn got a headshot of me I actually like in ten minutes, then did the rest of the office the same morning without anybody feeling rushed.
